Tasked with developing Fraktio’s training offering, we benchmarked competitors to understand their USPs and identify potential gaps in Fraktio’s portfolio. Due to an extremely tight schedule, we prioritized service design methods for rapid problem-solving. Workshops and quick ideation techniques generated potential solutions. These sessions revealed missing topics in Fraktio’s training programs, easily addressable given their team’s expertise. We proposed new training ideas, iteratively developed and aligned with Fraktio’s brand. These ideas were based on benchmarking, research, and theory. This first purely service design-focused school project, utilizing workshops and rapid ideation, enabled us to develop solutions within the two-week timeframe, accelerating my service design learning.

Challenge

We were tasked with developing Fraktio’s training offering. Our goal was to benchmark the competitive field and the USPs of different companies in terms of training and conceptualize how Fraktio’s coaching portfolio could be developed in the future.

Process

Empathize and define

We started the process by benchmarking competitors to find deeply understand possible shortcomings compared to competing package selections. This project had an extremely tight schedule and the main goal was to use Service Design methods to find meaningful solutions to the customer’s problems within this very limited timeframe.

Ideate and prototype

Workshops and quick ideation methods were used together to find ideas for possible solutions. During these workshops we for example realized that Fraktio’s training program selections had missing topics that they could easily cover when compared to the expertise that their professionals have. Further developed iterations of these ideas were proposed as solutions that would cover this gaps together with the findings from the benchmarking.

Solution

We came up with new coaching ideas and tried them out to see how they would fit in with the overall look and feel of Fraktio. We based the new coaching ideas on our benchmarking results and the research and theories we found.

Learnings

This was the first school project that was focused solely on only service design methods. The utilization of workshops and new quick ideation methods helped with developing new combinations in an extremely limited time frame of two weeks. This accelerated my journey into learning more about service design.
